May 2009 The Historical Village will once again host Pioneer Days for our county 5th-grade students this May. We have set aside the first full week in May, Tuesday thru Friday mornings, for our presentations. Classes scheduled for that day should arrive by 9AM. The students will have approximately 25 minutes at five different sites to enjoy hands-on education. They will rotate through all five sites with the program concluding at approximately 11:45AM for lunch on the grounds. Students can then tour the rest of the complex with a teacher or chaperone, if desired. Our staff and volunteers are limited so we will only be able to do this type of program once per season. If your school is unable to attend that week, you are certainly welcome to visit anytime during our season for a guided tour of the complex.
Please confirm your school's participation by March 31st. Be sure to indicate a preference of date with your response. We will do our best to accommodate you. If there are multiple requests for the same day, we will contact you immediately for rescheduling. We hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the Village at 641.755.2989 or gchv@netins.net. Thank you for letting us share Guthrie County history with your students! |
