Every 60 seconds, 8 healthy, adoptable pets are euthanized in the United States. That's equivalent to a litter of kittens or puppies every minute!

You should alter your pet because there are too many. It's that simple. With more than 4 million healthy, adoptable animals being destroyed annually in the United States solely because there are not enough good homes for them, there truly are too many unaltered animals producing young.

Rather than letting your female pet "have just one litter so our kids can witness the miracle of birth and have babies to play with" and then give them away as "free to good home," teach them how to be a responsible pet owner by having your pet spayed or neutered.

 

If you would like your children to see kittens and puppies while not contributing to the overpopulation problem, please take them to a local shelter and be a volunteer. There are many puppies and kittens in shelters and volunteers are always needed.
