With such cold winters here in Iowa, Panora P.E.T.S. provides cat shelters for the multiple feral cat colonies around Panora. If you or someone you know needs a shelter, please let us know. The shelters are relatively inexpensive and can be made from leftover items that you may have in your garage or basement. Here's a list of what is needed:
▪ roofing shingles ▪ linoleum or floor tiles ▪ fiberglass insulation (roll to cover 14-20 sq.ft.) ▪ 4' x 1/2inch x 8' sheet of exterior grade plywood ▪ 4' x 8' interior paneling or thin plywood ▪ exterior paint - any color
If you have any of these items and would like to donate them to P.E.T.S., please contact us at 641.431.1003 or panora_pets@yahoo.com. If you would like instructions on how to build a shelter, check out these sites: ▪ Build an Inexpensive Cat Shelter – Lists materials and provides pattern for building wooden shelter. Panora PETS is a division of the Animal Protection & Education (APE) Charity of Greene County. PETS is not a shelter; we assist animals in need from Guthrie County because there is no animal shelter in Guthrie County. PETS lists animals on Petfinder.com as a public service for our local communities.
