Our Little Ladybug is such an amazing girl. Her journey with us began on September 23, 2009. She was found in the middle of a dirt road and a kind person (who almost ran over her) picked her up and brought her to PETS. Both of her eyes were already badly damaged and literally bulging out of her head.
Little Bug's eyes could not be saved. We had one eye removed and hoped to save the other day, but several days after the first surgery, we were back at the vet to immediately remove the remaining eye which appeared that it might rupture.
On October 8, Ladybug woke up to a dark world. She had no eyes. We didn't know how she would do, if the infection would stay away, if she would be able to recover, and if she did, if anyone would want her? The day after surgery, however, Bug began to play! As the days passed, Little Bug began to play with toys, climb in her bunny cage, and I forgot to mention that she has been a pro at the litter box the entire time!
She is amazing and as soon as she fully heals, she will begin the new search for a forever home where she will be loved as much as we at PETS love her. PETS is committed to helping animals in need like Little Ladybug. We are a small organization of volunteers with a small budget. While we actively raise money throughout the year for the animals, there are certain cases, like Bug’s, that we must ask our friends and family for further assistance. Bug's surgeries totaled just over $600. If you would be willing to donate just a few dollars, I know we can make our goal and cover her medical bills so that we can continue to help the many homeless and unwanted animals in our area. Thank you for your support!
