10 Reasons to Adopt an Older Cat

P.E.T.S. currently has many older cats (over the age of three) that are in need of new homes. In an effort to promote the wonderful, mature cats that we currently have, we have lowered the adoption fee to only $10.  While many people prefer to adopt kittens, there are some great advantages for adopting an older cat.  Here are 10 excellent reasons to adopt an older cat:

10. A kitten is only a kitten for a short period of time...and then you have a cat!

9. WYSIWYG—what you see is what you get.  When you adopt an adult cat you know what you are getting.

8. Older cats don’t climb your curtains, run the Indy 500 at midnight, and use your leg as a scratching post.  They know the rules.

7. Older cats don’t require constant supervision like kittens require.

6. Older cats have a well-developed immune system and are not as fragile as kittens.

5.  Older cats are much more affectionate.

4.  Older cats adjust better to new surroundings and are better for families with children.

3.  You already know if an older cat gets along with other cats, dogs, and kids.

2.  Older cats are already pros at using the litter box!

AND THE #1 REASON TO ADOPT AN OLDER CAT

1. You save the life of a wonderful cat...and it will never let you forget that!
